This is an excellent camera. It takes great photos and great video. The autofocus on the video is a bit sensitive so you have to select the item that you want to focus on or it will try to focus continually on a moving object. I don't see that as a negative, I see that as having total control over the focus without doing everything manually. The 18-135 lens is a must. I never feel like I need another lens. This is my first foray into DSLRs and Canon has made this an awesome experience. Although I was nervous about spending this amount for a camera, I've found that it is worth every penny.
Similar to T3i as expected- but power on from sleep mode is slower by a fraction of a second. This is when the camera fell asleep and you press the shutter half way to wake it. I found that the extra delay was annoying and caused me to miss some shots I wanted to take. To put it another way, if they canged the design from Digic 4 to Digic 5, I would want it to be the same or faster- not slower.
This is an amazing camera, I love the quality of the pictures it takes. If you were wondering which lens to buy it with, if you can afford the extra $$ go for the 18-135mm, it is good quality and you will appreciate the extra zoom. Ignore the negative reviews about the decomposing grip as amazon has stopped shipping those. I have had the camera about 2 weeks, and so far very pleased.
